Our Mission

The mission of the FVIS Weekend Islamic School (WIS) is to provide Islamic education in the Fox
Valley, WI area through its Weekend School program. WIS has a long standing history in the area,
having served the Fox Valley, WI community for over 30 years. WIS is presently operated by a body of
volunteers with diverse backgrounds and races. They perform the instructional and administrative
tasks. The classes are taught in English and Arabic by a highly motivated team of volunteers.
Sometimes the instructors are graduates of the program.  The School operates on a two semesters
and a summer break system similar to the local Public School one. Classes are held on Sundays from
10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Zuhr Prayer are then held in a group setting that includes children and parents
at 1:15 PM.
The primary focus of WIS is to educate American Muslim children so that they develop into strong
individuals who are proud of, and confident in, their religion. We achieve our goal by providing our
students with a strong background in the Quran and the Sunnah/Seera that they can draw on as
adults.
